A warm welcome to one of Skåne`s oldest and most beautiful medieval castles. Örtofta Castle is centrally located in southern Sweden near Malmö, Lund and Eslöv with its own Pågatåg Station.

The oldest parts of Örtofta Castle date from the 15th century. The stronghold was surrounded on three sides by Bråån and thus it was only necessary to dig a canal on the fourth side to secure the defence of the castle. The castle of today is a brick building from the middle of the nineteenth century in the French renaissance style by architect Ferdinand Meldahl, who also was the architect behind the restorations
of the castles at Trolleholm and Trollenäs.

Other sights in Örtofta are the church with remains from the 12th century and the earth-works from the war 1676. An attractive stone-arch bridge was constructed across Bråån a hundred years later. The garden park is open to the public.

The castle is also available for conferences and private parties with possibilities to stay overnight.
