Welcome to Stenberget

This strange structure was created in 1887 by Christian E. Nilsson, known locally as “King of Eslöv”. He built it from stone that was left after he has built his own house in this part of the town. Stenberget used to form part of his garden and was raised along the lines of Babel’s Tower. Scenes from the “Flight of the Eagle” were shot here. The film is about about polar explorer Andrée, played by Max von Sydow. This part of Eslöv is known as “the old garden town”, and is characterized by large detached houses in stone,
from the turn of the last century.
